Nina Dobrev Goes Blonde for New Movie ‘It Happened One Summer,’ Shares Behind-the-Scenes Photos
Nina Dobrev is showing a new hairdo for her new movie!
The 37-year-old actress took to Instagram on Tuesday (August 11) to share some BTS pics from filming her upcoming movie, It Happened One Summer, where she can be seen switching up her brunette locks with a blonde hairdo.
“Meet Piper … Turns out blondes do have more fun…” Nina captioned the post.
In her slideshow, Nina also shared pics of her co-stars, Gavin Leatherwood, Tyler Hoechlin, and Virginia Gardner.
Filming on the project kicked off a week ago in New York, and the movie is based on the book of the same name by Tessa Bailey.
What is It Happened One Summer about?
“Piper Bellinger is a glamorous L.A. It Girl whose glittering world comes crashing down after a viral mishap gets her canceled overnight. Cut off from her wealthy family’s safety net, she is exiled to a rugged fishing town with one ultimatum: fix up her late father’s dive bar — or lose everything. There, she butts heads with Brendan, a gruff sea captain who has zero patience for influencers. He’s the last person she expected, and exactly what she needs.”
Nina stars as Piper Bellinger, with Virginia as her sister, Tyler as Brendan, and Gavin as his best friend, Fox Thornton.
The Hating Game helmer Peter Hutchings serves as director, with The Hating Game‘s Christina Mengert penning the script with Joseph Muszynski. Nina, Tyler and Virginia are also on board as executive producers.
“I’m just excited to see what they bring to the characters,” author Tessa Bailey previously shared with E! News about Nina and Tyler‘s casting. “I think they’re both such talented actors, and they’re both really funny. So, I’m really excited to see the spin they put on Piper and Brendan. I think they’re going to kill it.”
“There’s the moments where Piper is vulnerable with Brendan, I think are the ones I most care about,” she added. “Because she’s never really let her let herself kind of shine through in front of a romantic partner, or maybe even anybody besides her sister.”
