Nike’s first sneaker design is back in stock in new colors — get the Moon shoe before it sells out again

It’s back and there’s even more of it! Nike has finally restocked its sold-out Moon shoe, and now you can grab it in two new colors.

This first-ever design from Nike is now available in new sail/black and malachite/soft pearl color options. You can also grab the $105 sneaker in summit white/soft pearl and midnight navy/soft pearl as previously released.

The Moon shoe is a highly sought-after sneaker as it was the first shoe design that Nike created back in 1971. The shoe never made it to stores but was worn by the University of Oregon’s cross-country team, as well as athletes from the 1972 U.S. Olympic Trials.

It’s this initial design that inspired this new modern-take on the Moon sneaker. When first made, a waffle iron was used to create the grippy rubber sole of the Moon shoe, providing more traction. This inspired the waffle-style sole of today’s Moon shoe.

Nike finally brought the Moon shoe to the market for the first time this year, and as expected, it sold out fast. We’ve been patiently waiting for a restock and the time has finally come to grab it if you missed it on the first go-around.

The Moon shoe qualifies for free shipping from Nike for loyalty members. Nike offers free shipping for members on all online orders over $50. You can easily sign up for a free Nike membership online.
