Nick Pasqual Gets 32 Years To Life For Stabbing

How I Met Your Mother actor Nick Pasqual was sentenced Tuesday to 32 years to life after a conviction tied to the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend, makeup artist Allie Shehorn, in a May 2024 attack.

When Nick Pasqual walked into court on Tuesday, the sentence that followed made one thing unmistakably clear: the case that began with a brutal May 2024 attack has ended with a life-altering punishment.

Pasqual, known for his work on How I Met Your Mother, was sentenced to 32 years to life after being convicted last month for the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend, makeup artist Allie Shehorn. The judge delivered the sentence Tuesday.

The prosecution described an early morning attack in May 2024 that started with a break-in. Prosecutors said Pasqual entered Shehorn’s Sunland home during the early morning hours and stabbed her more than 20 times—in the neck. chest. back. abdomen. arms. and wrists—before fleeing toward the U.S.-Mexico border.

Shehorn survived. She underwent emergency surgery and extensive medical treatment, but she says the ordeal left her with permanent injuries, emotional trauma, and mounting medical bills. Her account frames the lasting consequences of what happened that night, long after the attack itself.

Pasqual was arrested and charged, and a jury ultimately found him guilty of attempted murder, residential burglary, and other charges connected to the assault.

Outside the criminal case, Shehorn is also pursuing civil action against Pasqual. Her civil lawsuit alleges sexual battery, gender violence, assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence. She is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

The criminal verdict and the civil claims sit side by side, pointing to the same central dispute—what Pasqual did to Shehorn—and to the different ways justice is being sought: prison time through the court that convicted him, and financial and accountability relief through the lawsuit still ahead.

  1. 32 to life feels like the system finally did something right. But why is he even famous enough for people to recognize him still?

  2. I don’t really watch that show so I’m confused why the article keeps mentioning it. If he stabbed her 20+ times then that’s attempt murder for sure… I hope she gets the money too.

  3. Wait so she survived and now he’s in for like 32 years? That seems long but also not long enough depending on the details. Also “break-in” like did he come in to kill her or was it some fight that got crazy? The border part is weird like he was trying to escape Mexico or something.

  4. I saw this on TikTok and they were like “he’s innocent” or whatever and I’m like… stabbing in the neck and chest and back?? That’s not an accident. Civil lawsuit too, wow. I hope she wins because medical bills after something like that are insane, even with insurance.
