Nick Jonas Says The Lion King Always Hits Him

Nick Jonas is rewatching Disney films with his daughter Malti Marie, and at a recent In Conversation event he revealed the Disney movie that always makes him cry: The Lion King—especially as a father.

Nick Jonas didn’t just talk about his latest project—he got emotional about the Disney movie that still brings him to tears.

The 33-year-old actor and musician. who has been rewatching Disney films with his daughter Malti Marie. 4. shared his go-to cry-fest during a recent In Conversation event for his new movie Power Ballad. The conversation also circled back to his Disney past: Jonas. a Disney Channel alum. will be inducted as a Disney Legend later this year with his brothers.

When host Josh Horowitz asked whether there were any songs or films that made him feel something. Jonas didn’t hesitate. “Well. I’ll say there are two scenes in this movie that I’m not in. and they hit me super hard as a father. ” he said. via People. “I think there’s a real thing that you’ll see. I want you to think about this powerful stuff, family, that aspect. Then, outside of that, when I cry over a movie, it’s The Lion King.”.

Jonas tied the emotion to fatherhood and the stories he’s now experiencing through his daughter. “You know. things that I’m getting to watch with my daughter these days and kind of read some of those experiences. the stories that shaped who I became. and now I’m sharing that with her. It’s a totally special thing to experience,” he added. He also said he always cries at movies on the plane.

That raw, familiar feeling is something he’ll be bringing into the weeks ahead, with Power Ballad set to land in theaters. The film will hit select theaters on May 29th and everywhere on June 5th. It also stars Paul Rudd.

After that, Jonas will be turning to his next work: he recently wrapped filming on a holiday horror movie with Kathryn Newton, Ashley Park, Justice Smith, KJ Apa, Madeleine Arthur and more.
