Nicholas Galitzine Says He’s Been Sober Since COVID

Nicholas Galitzine, 31, revealed on Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast that he’s been sober “since COVID,” explaining he was drinking heavily during that period and feels better for stopping.
Nicholas Galitzine didn’t ease into it. On Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast, released Friday (June 5), the 31-year-old Masters of the Universe actor made it clear he’s not drinking anymore.
“I don’t drink anymore,” Nicholas said, as Jake asked if he was sober. “Yeah, since COVID,” Nicholas replied.
Jake followed with an “Oh wow, good for you,” and the conversation stayed light as Nicholas laughed. But he also pushed back on the idea that the moment was only a simple celebration. “It’s not like…that,” Nicholas said, with Jake responding “Congratulations.”
Nicholas then repeated, “It’s not like that,” before Jake asked a more direct question: “Oh — you just were like ‘I’m over it’?”
That’s what Nicholas described. “Yeah, I was drinking a lot in COVID,” he explained, adding that he’s “kind of better for it.”
The podcast appearance comes as the actor also reflects on how he’s been taking better care of himself. In an interview with Men’s Health, Nicholas opened up about prioritizing his health alongside the rigorous training he went through to bulk up to play He-Man in Masters of the Universe.
