Niall Horan reacted coolly after Love Island USA contestant Zacharias “Zach” Georgiou said he uses One Direction talk to pick up women, saying only, “God almighty, I hope that works for him.”
Niall Horan didn’t exactly sound thrilled when he heard how a Love Island USA contestant tries to impress women.
Zacharias “Zach” Georgiou, who spent time on the show’s U.S. season, told fellow Islanders how he leans on his love of One Direction to get attention. Horan’s response was a brief, dry laugh of disbelief.
“God almighty, I hope that works for him,” Horan told iHeart Radio. “That’s all I can say on that, to be honest.”
The technique isn’t just something Zach says out of habit. During his time on Love Island USA, he’s mentioned his love of One Direction numerous times. “If I’m talking to a girl, I do always bring up One Direction ‘cause it always works,” Georgiou shared. “But it’s real, I do actually love them. They’re surprised when I start spitting some ball knowledge about 1D.”.
In the same conversation, Georgiou also explained to Kayda Bosse that his favorite member was Zayn Malik.
Horan, for his part, sounded unimpressed by the pitch—even if Zach’s intentions are sincere. The exchange leaves one simple mismatch hanging in the air: Zach says the band talk “always works. ” while Horan’s reaction suggests he isn’t convinced anyone should be using his former bandmates as a strategy.

Niall just sounds bitter like bro you made the songs, let people use it. If anything Zayn is the only one with real game. But iHeart Radio interviews always cut things weird so who knows what was really said.
