Jen’s Mighty Marathon Manorhamilton’s Jennifer Montgomery, a former North Leitrim Athletic Club juvenile member, put up a mighty performance when finishing fourth lady home in the recent Cork City Marathon. Jennifer finished in an excellent time of two hours 56
minutes and 50 seconds when crossing the Cork finishing line in 84th place overall. British runner Melissa Gibson was the first lady home in Cork in a time of 2: 40: 41 in 26th overall place with Cork’s Glanmire AC’s Andrea Villamor finishing second lady home in 2: 48: 45 in 39th place overall and Cork’s Togher AC’s April Quinn was third lady home in 2: 56: 01 in 81st place overall. Melissa Gibson recently won the Edinburgh Marathon. Some 3,000 runners competed in this
year’s annual Cork City Marathon. North Antrim native and Letterkenny AC runner Stephen McAuley won the Cork City Marathon in 2: 22: 42. Show Launch The 2026 Manorhamilton Agricultural Show launch event, which will be organised by the Show Committee, takes place on at 8 p.m. on Friday night, June 19, in the Glens Centre. This year’s eagerly awaited annual Manorhamilton Agricultural Show will take place in the Bee Park on Saruday, July 25. Refreshments will be served for all attending the Manor Show launch

This provides 24/7 access to boost community cardiac safety in the Merville Area. This is part of a national effort to support cardiac emergency response. Every year, thousands of people in Ireland experience cardiac arrest. Immediate CPR and access to an AED can increase survival chances and the model installed at Merville is particularly user-friendly, with LED and
voice prompts to guide untrained users. This facility has been provided with essential support of the Local Community and Sligo County Council through the Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) 2025. SENIORS ALERT SCHEME PENDANT ALARMS Merville Community Centre facilitates on behalf of our community the provision to eligible persons of Social Monitored Pendant Alarms, under the Seniors Alert Scheme that is administered by Pobal Equipment Funding is available for eligible persons over 65 years for the installation of a monitored alarm on a landline in the
person’s home. The alarms are now available for persons aged 65 or older and living alone, living with another person who meets the terms and conditions, living alone for significant periods of time during the day, or is a carer to someone else in their household. First year monitoring is free for all new applicants. Subsequent annual monitoring charges are then payable by the user. Other Systems are available at various costs for those who do not possess a Landline. Overall, this monitoring product adds
