Netflix’s New Gritty Spy Thriller Officially Sounds Like ‘John Wick’ in the Suburbs

This afternoon, Netflix announced it’s now in early development on a new spy thriller series, Bannerman, which was co-written by Shane Black and Craig Silverstein. Made in collaboration with AMC, the show will premiere on the network in the US and Canada and begin streaming on Netflix 90 days later. The logline reads as follows: “Paul Bannerman, a lethal covert operative, convinces a group of the world’s most deadly assassins to quit the spy game for a chance to lead normal lives in the suburbs of Connecticut. Old enemies, bad habits, a paranoid government and an unrelenting ex-cop will make retirement their most difficult mission yet.”
