Neil deGrasse Tyson Wants Alien Proof Now

Neil deGrasse Tyson, long a skeptic about UAP and aliens, says he’s ready to talk seriously if the latest Pentagon “disclosure” push comes with real, concrete evidence—arguing Hollywood has already trained the public for the moment.

Neil deGrasse Tyson has spent years swatting away questions about UAPs and extraterrestrials—laughing them off. shrugging at the claims. and pushing back on the stories people tell about alien encounters. But after a fresh wave of whistleblowers and new “disclosure” files released by the Pentagon. he says the conversation is changing.

On “The Chris Cuomo Project,” the astrophysicist and author didn’t just signal openness to the topic—he demanded the proof.

“I’m saying bring out the alien,” Tyson said. “I will sit back on my chair, watch TV, catch up on some shows waiting for you to bring out the alien. And then no one will ever have to ask [me] again, do you believe in aliens?”

Tyson framed it as simple logic: once people have already been told. the only remaining question is whether what’s been claimed is real. “You’re already telling me you got aliens. It’s in fact, bring out the alien to be anticlimactic at that point. You already told me,” he said. “Plus, Hollywood has prepped us. What?. We don’t We haven’t thought about aliens before?. Excuse me!. OK. We got another movie coming out in a few days – ‘Disclosure Day’ by Steven Spielberg. That’ll be his fourth alien movie … so we’re already prepped. So, the notion that I’m not showing it to you because you can’t handle it. Well. clearly you can handle it because you know about it. and your whistleblowers told us about it. and Hollywood has already been there. So bring out the alien.”.

Tyson’s appearance came as he promoted his newest book. “Take Me To Your Leader: Perspectives on Your First Alien Encounter.” He’s been a longtime skeptic of UAP encounters. accounts from abductees. crop circles. and the like—and he brings that skepticism into the discussion even as he confronts the subject head-on through his new work.

For the cultural groundwork he believes the public has already received, Tyson pointed to the Spielberg universe. The movies he cited as shaping how people are prepared include “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” and “E.T. ” along with “War of the Worlds. ” and—most recently—“Disclosure Day.” Tyson also tied Spielberg’s return to the alien genre to the question he’s pressing: what happens when disclosure finally arrives. and how people react once the idea stops being hypothetical.

“Disclosure Day” premieres in theaters on June 12.
