Motorcycle crash in N.H. leaves two seriously injured

motorcycle hits – Two Quebec residents were seriously hurt Monday afternoon when a motorcycle struck a deer on Route 3 south in Pittsburg, New Hampshire—sending the rider by medical helicopter to a Maine hospital and the passenger to a local hospital.

Just before 1 p.m. Monday, on Route 3 south in Pittsburg, a motorcycle went down after hitting a deer.

New Hampshire State Police said two residents of Quebec were seriously injured in the crash. Their motorcycle struck the animal and the impact threw the two people from the bike.

State police responded just before 1 p.m. and said the man was operating a 2002 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide. He was flown in a medical helicopter to a Maine hospital. The woman, his passenger, was taken to a local hospital.

Both were wearing helmets, police said.

The crash unfolded on a stretch of road where deer are common, but in moments like this the danger can feel sudden—one second the ride is routine, the next it ends with two people badly hurt and rescue teams racing the clock.
