More iPhone Fold dummy shots appear in folded forms

New images said to be a dummy iPhone Fold show the device in both opened and closed states, while the reported color options look limited to white—adding another layer of uncertainty ahead of the rumored launch.

A set of newly shared iPhone Fold dummy unit images is circulating again, and this time the device appears in both its folded and opened forms—matching earlier leaks, but also narrowing expectations around its colors.

The first image tied to the alleged iPhone Fold (or iPhone Fold Ultra) made the rounds on June 1 on Weibo, shared by a “reputable leaker” and described as a prototype or dummy unit. A few days later, more shots emerged.

On June 7, images were posted to X by Sonny Dickson, who described the pictured item directly as an “iPhone Fold dummy unit.” The post includes four shots showing the model in its closed and opened states.

In the two open images, the “back” appears consistent with the earlier photograph. One half is black, used to represent the external display. The other half is white, and the camera bump sits to one side. In the post, Dickson also comments on what that design suggests about the product’s finishes.

The other open shot emphasizes the large black screen and the hinge positioned along the top edge that holds everything together.

The closed shots, meanwhile, look straightforward. One image shows the black “screen” half that would be visible to users when the phone is folded. The other shows the white, camera-equipped back.

The dummy unit’s overall look also lines up with an earlier CAD drawing Dickson shared in March.

But it’s the color question that may sting most for shoppers who were hoping for variety. Dickson writes that it “doesn’t look like Apple will offer multiple colors. ” adding that “white” appears to be the only option. He suggests this expectation could hold into the fall, when the iPhone Fold is said to ship.

That comment echoes a separate claim shared on Friday by leaker Instant Digital, which said Apple was still deliberating over whether to introduce a black colorway. In other words, the decision on colors may not be finalized even if the hardware’s shape is starting to look familiar.

Dickson has a reputation as one of the more reliable leakers and has repeatedly provided images of future Apple products. Still, the modern rumor ecosystem is messy. With AI-generated images. 3D printing. and easy ways to fake visual proof. there’s always a risk that dummy shots like these aren’t what they claim to be.

The images are convincing and appear to fit earlier rumors and leaks—but as with every pre-launch leak, there’s no certainty until Apple actually launches the device.
