Model Ming Xi Wore Dior Couture at Mont Saint-Michel

Model Ming Xi married entrepreneur and Boston Celtics co-owner Mario Ho on June 1, 2026, at Mont Saint-Michel Abbey in Normandy—after a year of planning with French heritage institutions and a custom Dior haute couture dress built around a floral theme from Ma

The moment Ming Xi stepped into Mont Saint-Michel Abbey, it wasn’t just a ceremony—it was the end of a year-long push to make something unprecedented feel possible.

Her wedding day arrived on June 1, 2026, seven years after she and Mario Ho first became engaged in 2019. Ming said she and Ho met in Shanghai during his sister’s birthday celebration in 2017. Two years later. she recalled. Mario “threw a surprise engagement event” and transformed his family’s mall. L’Avenue Shanghai. “into a real-life Super Mario world. ” where he performed on stage with a guitar and sang for her.

By the time they married at Mont Saint Michel Abbey in the Normandy region of France. the planning effort had become its own kind of story. Ming said the process took a whole year. with support from the Mont Saint Michel staff and Centre des Monuments Nationaux. “As it’s something that’s never been done before. a lot of approvals had to be made. ” she said. adding that the planning process was “fun and effective.”.

The venue choice turned the weekend into a fairytale on the ground, not just in photographs. Ming described floral decorations across the abbey and said she and Mario exchanged vows “in tears.” Their son and daughter were their flower kids for the ceremony.

Behind the scenes, Ming and Mario worked closely with the Wedding Company Hong Kong by Michele Li to plan the entirety of their wedding weekend.

That sense of careful craft showed up again in what Ming wore—because she didn’t approach the dress like a last-minute accessory. She has worked in the fashion industry for over 10 years and has walked in shows for many major brands. That background shaped how she thought about structure, fittings, and details.

Before the wedding, she visited couture houses with one idea in mind. “This experience has confirmed for me that Dior and Chanel are the absolute pinnacle of fashion. ” Ming said. explaining that “their cuts are simply immaculate.” She also said she loved Jonathan Anderson’s new look for Dior. describing the designs as “so vibrant and lively. with a youthful. girlish spirit that’s also effortlessly lazy and carefree.”.

While Ming was at her first fitting. she said Jonathan Anderson was working on his inaugural haute couture collection for Dior at the atelier. In that collection, Ming pointed to a floral dress inspired by the ceramic works of Magdalene Odundo. “We decided to incorporate that beautiful detail into my wedding dress and transformed it into an open-back gown,” Ming said.

She described the fabric choice as wild silk charmeuse. which she said has “a natural pearl-like luster.” The cuffs and back include Dior’s signature delicate buttons. For the open back. she said Dior inserted piano wire inside to create structure so the dress could hold a “beautiful. wing-like shape.”.

Her accessories were equally precise. Ming wore a round diamond Graff necklace made of 52 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds, paired with matching brilliant-cut round Graff diamond studs. She finished the look with a bow at the waist of the bride’s dress.

The emotional pull of the day came through in the moments before the ceremony. when Ming said she felt “completely surrounded by the love of my partner and our dearest friends.” She added that although she and Mario had already been together for nine years. memories still surged as they exchanged vows.

For Ming, June 1, 2026 wasn’t just a date on a program. It was the culmination of a relationship that began in Shanghai with a surprise engagement—then traveled, in careful steps, all the way to an abbey that saw its first wedding of this kind.

  1. So she married the Celtics co-owner and it’s all France stuff? The headline makes it sound like Dior was the main event lol. Also why Mont Saint-Michel like isn’t that like… always windy?

  2. I saw Dior and thought it was sponsored or something, like she had to wear it because of the brand deal. But then it’s also about approvals and the abbey staff and I’m like okay so who even runs weddings at abbeys, the monks? And the “Super Mario world” thing is cute but I don’t get the connection to the dress floral theme from Ma The moment she stepped in made it sound like a movie trailer.

  3. Wait, the article said they met in Shanghai in 2017 at his sister’s birthday, then he sang with a guitar and turned a mall into a Super Mario world… so basically he went full celebrity mode and then she just approved everything with Dior? I’m not even trying to be mean, I’m just confused how one year of planning turns into “never been done before” like where do they even get permits for an abbey wedding. Also Celtics co-owner means he’s rich rich, so I guess Dior haute couture is mandatory or the abbey won’t let you in.
