State begins cross-examination of co-accused in Modack trial

The case against alleged underworld crime boss Nafiz Modack and 14 co-accused is expected to resume today in the Western Cape High Court. Accused number three, Ziyaad Poole, remains on the witness stand where he is being cross-examined by the State. Last week, State prosecutor Greg Wolmarans presented evidence which he says links Poole and his co-accused to the planning and attempted murder of Cape Town criminal lawyer William Booth in April 2020. Modack and his co-accused are facing more than 100 charges. Among the
charges before the court is the murder of Anti-Gang Unit detective Charl Kinnear, who was killed in September 2020. The trial is expected to continue with further cross-examination and the presentation of additional evidence by the State. Nafiz Modack Ruling | Modack faces more than 120 charges
