The National League West is also led by Los Angeles at 48-27 (.640). San Diego is 38-35 (.521), 9 games back, Arizona is 38-36 (.514), 9½ behind, San Francisco is 31-43 (.419), 16½ out, and Colorado is 28-47 (.373), 20 behind.

On Wednesday in the American League, Kansas City defeated Washington 6-2. Houston beat Detroit 4-2. The L.A. Dodgers topped Tampa Bay 5-4. Arizona overpowered L.A. Angels 8-1.   1. I don’t even follow baseball but seeing 10–5 and then standings like that feels fake. Like how are they already so far ahead then it’s just one game?

  2. Wait, doesn’t Toronto being 37-38 mean they’re basically tied with Baltimore? The whole “games behind” thing confuses me. Also I swear I read something about Boston “15 and a half” like that’s not even a real number.

  3. The article is all math and somehow my brain just stops. Like Dodgers 5–4 over Tampa? That’s close enough I don’t see how LA is still winning the whole division. And why does it say Seattle leads but then everyone else is like 2 games back like it’s nothing? MLB standings always make me feel like I’m missing a whole page.
