Miracle moment as Colombia fans celebrate from wheelchairs

Colombian fans – Footage from Mexico City shows two Colombian supporters in the disabled seating zone leaping and bouncing after Colombia’s 3-1 World Cup win over Uzbekistan—sparking a viral debate about disability and ticket rules.
Two Colombian supporters in the stadium’s disabled zone didn’t stay seated when the moment arrived. Video filmed during Colombia’s first match at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City captured them springing out of their chairs and bouncing in celebration after the team scored and eventually won 3-1 against Uzbekistan on Wednesday.
The user who shared the clip online joked about it being a “miracle at the Azteca.” The video quickly went viral. pulling in a wave of reactions that ranged from admiration to mockery. One viewer quipped: “The magic of football.” Another said: “And they even did little jumps. ” while a third joked: “What they call magical realism from Colombians.”.
But others moved fast to push back, arguing the celebration didn’t contradict disability at all. One viewer wrote: “I was in a wheelchair for a month because of an ankle fracture. I could stand up.” Another added: “Isn’t being disabled just about not being able to walk, right?. And another thing. to get a disabled ticket. you have to unlock it with an ID that usually explains the condition.”.
Further comments insisted that wheelchair use doesn’t always mean someone cannot stand for brief moments. One response said: “Sometimes the use of wheelchairs is due to mobility difficulties. meaning difficulty walking. not standing.” The same viewpoint was echoed again: “There are people who can stand up. and if they are very happy. they might even do a little jump. but when it comes to walking. it’s difficult or impossible for them.”.
On the pitch, the result carried real momentum for Colombia. The win lifted Colombia above Group K. placing the team ahead of Portugal and Congo. who earlier Wednesday played to a surprising 1-1 draw. Colombia will now play Congo next Thursday at Guadalajara, Mexico. Uzbekistan, meanwhile, will face Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal at Houston.
Colombia finished third in South American qualifying behind Argentina and Ecuador. Uzbekistan finished second in its Asian qualifying group behind Iran.

Wait so they’re in the disabled section but they’re bouncing like normal?? Seems kinda disrespectful ngl.
I saw this and everybody acting like they were cheating the system but like… people can still have pain and stand up for a sec. The whole ticket thing is confusing though, who even checks like that?
The article keeps saying “didn’t stay seated” but that’s not the same as “not disabled.” Plus wheelchair doesn’t mean 24/7 paralyzed I guess. But also if they’re not supposed to stand, then why would they even be there? People are gonna argue about everything.
This is why I hate sports crowds, they turn anything into a circus. Miracle at the Azteca?? More like magical realism like that one dude said. Also Uzbekistan lost 3-1 so everybody focus on the wrong thing. If Colombia won, let them celebrate, seriously.
