Millie Bobby Brown Tried to ‘Mend’ Stranger Things Bonds

Millie Bobby Brown said she went into a “slight, slight depression” after Stranger Things ended on New Year’s Eve and spent January trying to reconnect and clear up unresolved tension with her co-stars.
When Stranger Things wrapped its five-season run on New Year’s Eve, Millie Bobby Brown didn’t walk away with closure.
The actress said that after the finale, she sank into what she described as “a little bit of a slight, slight depression,” and that it hit harder than she expected because she’s “a very happy-go-lucky person.”
Speaking during a live recording of Happy Sad Confused at 92NY on Wednesday, she recalled how difficult the post-finale shift felt. “It was very hard for me,” Brown said. “I would not have expected that coming off of the show.”

By then, she had already started trying to smooth things over. Brown said she devoted her January to reconnecting with her co-stars, hoping to confirm that the bond they formed over time would continue now that Eleven’s story was no longer filming.
“I was like, ‘We’re still friends, right? Like, you’re not gonna stop talking to me anymore?’” Brown said. She described apologizing if she had upset anyone, explaining, “I was like, ‘I’m sorry if I ever upset you,’ and was just trying to mend anything.”

In her telling. the message came from a very personal place: “It’s been 10 years. and I really want to be friends. You’re my sibling.” Brown said the attempt to reach back toward the castmates she’d spent so long with didn’t stop at words. “And then I was on the beach, it was beautiful, and I just sat there crying. It was a very hard time for me.”.
She added that “no one will ever understand it,” because she started Stranger Things when she was only 10 years old. “And this character was me, and these people were in my life more than my own family,” Brown said. “I saw these people more than going home and eating dinner with my family. Saying goodbye to that after 10 years was a very. very emotional thing. and I’m going to miss Eleven more than anything.”.
