Mike White used a video call during the Survivor 50 finale to confirm that Charlie Davis and Kamilla Karthigesu will cameo in the upcoming fourth season of HBO’s The White Lotus, currently filming in the South of France.
For a show built on tension, Mike White didn’t waste any time turning the stakes up. During the live Survivor 50 finale on Wednesday night, May 20, the The White Lotus creator appeared by video call and announced that two Survivor contestants would be checking into his HBO world.
White said Charlie Davis and Kamilla Karthigesu will be making cameos in the upcoming fourth season of The White Lotus. The new run is currently filming in the South of France.
White didn’t just drop the news and move on. He also explained how his own Survivor moment shaped the schedule. He pushed back production on season four so he could compete on Survivor 50, where he ultimately finished as the fifth person voted out.
When host Jeff Probst asked why White wanted to return to the CBS competition series, White pointed to the show’s long pull. “Survivor has given me so much, as a viewer and when I was a contestant. Fifty seasons, are you kidding? There’s nothing that could have stopped me from coming back.”
He followed it with a joke that landed like a confession: after being voted out, he took a day to “nurse my wounds” before getting back to writing season four.
Davis and Karthigesu won’t be the first Survivor players to wander into The White Lotus. In season two of the Emmy-winning series, Survivor: David vs. Goliath contestants Angelina Keeley and Kara Kay appeared as hotel guests.
The fourth season has its own built-in spectacle. Instead of being centered on a fictional backdrop, it’s unique in that it’s focused on a real-life event: the Cannes Film Festival. The season will follow guests at a fictional hotel near the film festival in France.
Variety described the setup this way: “In Cannes, two rival film teams descend upon the Cannes Film Festival with movies in competition and something to prove. One camps out at a flashy, palatial hotel on the Croisette, while the other is ensconced in a luxurious hilltop hideaway.”
The cast list already reads like a who’s-who of prestige television and film. Season four includes Vincent Cassel. Steve Coogan. Laura Dern. Caleb Jonte Edwards. Dylan Ennis. Corentin Fila. Ari Graynor. Marissa Long. Alexander Ludwig. Chris Messina. AJ Michalka. Kumail Nanjiani. and Nadia Tereszkiewicz.
Additional cast announced for the season includes Chloe Bennet, Sandra Bernhard, Heather Graham, Max Greenfield, Frida Gustavsson, Charlie Hall, Jarrad Paul, Rosie Perez, Ben Schnetzer, Laura Smet, Max Minghella, Ben Kingsley, and Pekka Strang.
As for when viewers can expect it, HBO has not set a premiere date yet. The series is currently filming, and the fourth season—now expanded with two Survivor cameos—doesn’t yet have its countdown to debut.

I didn’t even know they were filming in the South of France already. Charlie and Kamilla better bring the chaos cause White Lotus always has that tension vibe.
Wait so Mike White got voted out and then came back and made the schedule… like he’s using Survivor as a storyline? Kinda weird, but I guess that’s showbiz. Also I’m confused how this isn’t spoilers lol.
The “two Survivor contestants checking into HBO world” sounds like a promo gimmick. I mean The White Lotus already has its own twisty stuff, why do they need more reality TV people? And isn’t Charlie Davis the one who did that challenge? Idk I just heard the names and figured it’d be a mess.
