Microsoft readies translucent green Xbox Series X for 25th

Microsoft is launching a special Xbox Series X 25th anniversary edition in translucent green, with a front-lit X, a themed controller, and transparent back panels. It arrives in November, though Microsoft has not shared a precise release date or pricing yet.
The Xbox turns green, and this time it’s not subtle. Microsoft’s special 25th anniversary edition Xbox Series X ships with a translucent green look—console and controller—meant to nod directly at the original Xbox era.
The console takes design cues from the first Xbox, with the front of the system featuring an “X” that lights up green when powered on. There’s also a 25th anniversary logo on the front, signaling the celebration immediately rather than as an afterthought.
Jason Ronald. VP of next generation. framed the move as a deliberate return to a recognizable style: “For the first time. we’re bringing a translucent design to Xbox Series X. drawing inspiration from the original Xbox and OG Green so many players remember. ” he said. He added that the edition “respects our history. ” while keeping the performance gamers expect from Xbox Series X—“with the power and performance of the Xbox Series X. including 1 TB of storage.”.
The controller mirrors that same trip through memory. It keeps the original ABXY colors, and it adds bumpers meant to honor the original black and white buttons from the Duke controller. The back case and battery door are fully transparent, revealing the classic XBOX logo beneath.
Ronald explained the look this way: “The back case and battery door are fully transparent, revealing the classic XBOX logo,” he said.
Microsoft says both the console and controller will be available in November. The company has not announced an exact release date or pricing yet, leaving fans to watch for the last details before deciding whether to upgrade their shelf with a piece of Xbox history.

Green Xbox??? So it’s gonna light up like the old ones or is that just a marketing thing?
If they don’t say the price yet then I’m assuming it’s like $999 lol. But I kinda want it just for the transparent back.
Wait this is the one with the “front-lit X” right? I saw green and thought it was gonna be a limited edition because the original Xbox was green too… but then it’s 1TB and that’s the only spec I cared about.
Man Microsoft is really just doing paint jobs and calling it history. Transparent back sounds cool but it’s also gonna look dusty in like a week. Also November is such a vague guess, like are they shipping it or just teasing it for months?
