Can Starship reach orbit? SpaceX plans to try on next flight test
SpaceX’s Starship rocket could soon reach orbit for the first time since beginning flight tests in April 2023 in South Texas.
A Mexican lawful permanent resident in Texas was arrested after being accused of unlawfully voting and falsely claiming U.S. citizenship, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Homeland Security Investigations agents in El Paso arrested Ludwig Uriel Espejo-Carrillo on Sept. 3, DHS announced Sept. 17. Espejo-Carrillo was administratively charged with unlawful voting and making a false claim to U.S. citizenship in connection with voting in U.S. elections in 2015.
Espejo-Carrillo became a lawful permanent resident of the United States in July 2013, according to DHS.
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said the administration would continue pursuing cases involving noncitizens accused of voting in U.S. elections.
“This is what a threat to our republic looks like. We cannot and will not allow the votes of American citizens to be cancelled out by non-citizens illegally voting in our elections,” Mullin said in a statement.
Espejo-Carrillo remains in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody pending removal proceedings, according to DHS. Mullin added that the administration would seek to deport Espejo-Carrillo.
