The Merry Hill shopping centre has confirmed that the lifestyle brand MINISO will replace the recently closed GAME unit, sparking significant excitement among local shoppers.
Merry Hill has revealed the new pop culture store that will be opening where the former GAME store was located.. GAME closed last month on the lower floor of the shopping centre after the gaming giant fell into administration.. The hoarding states ‘MINISO opening soon’ as well as revealing the store will sell collectibles, toys, beauty and snacks.. It also reveals that when the store opens, with a date yet to be announced, there will be a free goody bag worth £25 with a
purchase of £5 or more while stocks last.. The TikTok post reads: “Something cute is loading…. A not so mini launch is coming to Merry Hill.” The post has prompted excitement from shoppers.. Izzy said: “Aww yes!” Another shopper posted: “I’ve literally just screamed, I’m so happy.. I’ve been begging to go to the Miniso in Birmingham , now I can just go to Merry Hill when it’s there.” A third wrote: “OMG yes!” While
another commented: “Omg that’s the Merry I go to, aaah I can’t wait!” The store stocks brands such as Hello Kitty and Friends, Disney, Stitch, Harry Potter, My Little Pony, Sylvanian Families, and Vinyl Plush, as well as popular ‘blind boxes’.. MINISO already has three stores in the West Midlands – two in Birmingham at the Bullring and Grand Central and one at Telford Shopping Centre.. The news of MINISO opening follows a raft of
new stores at Merry Hill including two new eateries the Original Patty Co.. and Ben & Jerry’s .. The centre’s Matalan store has also recently undergone a huge refurbishment , while Superdrug is to ‘double in size’ as it expands into the former HMV store.. And Popeyes® is bringing their New Orleans-inspired menu to Brierley Hill, opening a new restaurant on the centre’s retail park.. Merry Hill has been approached for comment about MINISO’s opening.
