Megyn Kelly didn’t ease into it. On the Friday episode of the “Hodgetwins Podcast,” the former Fox News anchor laid out a cascade of personal attacks on President Donald Trump, calling him a serial cheater and bringing back an allegation Ivana Trump once made and later took back.

The remarks landed with extra heat because Kelly framed her comments as hypocrisy—starting with Trump’s reaction to the remarriage of former counterterrorism chief Joe Kent. Kent. whose first wife died in combat in 2019. remarried “fairly quickly. ” Kelly said. and she pointed to the way Trump had publicly mocked the timing. Then she went for the broader claim. “I mean, Trump has cheated on every wife he’s had,” she continued, saying Trump “met Marla Maples while he was still married” to Ivana and that it was “all over the New York papers,” adding that “Like he was proud of the affair!”

Kelly’s escalation didn’t stop at old tabloid history. She also returned to a darker accusation Trump has repeatedly denied: Ivana Trump’s claim, made under oath during divorce proceedings in 1990, that she was raped by him during the period after he had undergone a painful scalp reduction surgery.

Kelly told Keith and Kevin Hodge. “And by the way. Ivana. his first wife. accused him of raping her”—an allegation Kelly said Ivana later retracted. In that 1990 sworn deposition, Ivana described a violent sexual encounter with her then-estranged husband that allegedly occurred the year prior. While she used the word rape under oath. she recanted the claim after the accusation appeared in the 1993 book “Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J. Trump.”.

In a statement provided by Ivana Trump’s ex-husband’s lawyers. she said she “felt violated” but did not “want [her] words to be interpreted in a literal or criminal sense.” When the allegation resurfaced during Donald Trump’s first presidential campaign in 2015. In an October 2025 interview with “Good Morning America. ” Melania Trump said. “It is not a concern and focus of mine.” She added. “I’m a mother and a first lady. and I have much more important things to think about and to do. I know people like to speculate, and the media like to speculate about our marriage.”.

The sequencing of Kelly’s comments—mocking Trump’s reported treatment of Kent. declaring he “cheated on every wife he’s had. ” then circling back to the Ivana rape allegation she says was later retracted—puts the focus less on what’s new and more on what’s being reactivated.
