Meghan Markle’s father is ‘hurt and upset’ about her move back to the U.K.: ‘I found out about it at the same time as the rest of the world,’ he says
Thomas Markle Sr. was left out of the loop about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s return to England.
The Duchess of Sussex’s estranged father claimed he was not aware his daughter, her husband and their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, were leaving the United States for another stint in the U.K.
Thomas Sr. is ‘hurt and upset’ about Meghan’s move back to Britain
While Thomas Sr. has reportedly never met Harry or their children, he was stunned to learn that Meghan was relocating.
“I saw on CNN that they were returning to England. I found out about it at the same time as the rest of the world,” the 82-year-old told Daily Mail.
“I’m hurt and upset that she doesn’t give a [expletive] about me, even though I’m in hospital,” Thomas Sr. said, referencing his leg amputation.
Thomas Sr. feels Meghan acts like he doesn’t ‘exist’
The former lighting director and the Suits star had a falling out shortly before she married the Duke of Sussex in 2018 after Meghan accused him of selling stories to the media.
“Meghan used to love me, she was always a daddy’s girl and now it’s like I don’t exist,” Thomas Sr. claimed.
“I will never stop loving my daughter, but I will never understand why she turned her back on me,” he added.

Despite their drama, Thomas Sr. wants to know his grandkids.
“One day those kids will ask about their ‘other’ grandfather — the one who isn’t King Charles III — the one that Meghan and Harry are apparently ashamed of,” he noted.
“I hope they know how much I wanted to meet them,” the patrirach noted.
Meghan is unlikely to reconcile with Thomas Sr.
According to royal expert Jennie Bond, Meghan isn’t likely to reach out to her dad any time soon.
“As I have often said, families are complicated,” she told The Mirror.
“None of us truly knows what has gone on between Meghan and her father, but it is a very sad situation when a daughter cannot simply pick up the phone to her dad,” the commentator explained.
