Mckenna Grace’s birthday weekend didn’t just come with cake energy—it came with boyfriend Mason Thames, her parents, and a whole lot of Instagram proof.
The actress turned 20 on Thursday. June 25. and shared a batch of photos and video from the weekend celebrations under the caption “birthday weekend :).” Many of the pictures featured Mason. including cute snaps from an aquarium visit. In that moment. it wasn’t just a date—her parents joined them too. with Grace posting a photo that included the family.
Scooby-Doo: Origins also showed up in the celebration. Grace shared photos of her co-stars marking her big day, and there’s even a shot of Grace and Mason during a workout alongside Abby Ryder Fortson and Tanner Hagen.
One of the most memorable parts, though, landed in the comments. In a photo where Mason is shown holding a bouquet of flowers. Abby Ryder Fortson stepped in to dispute the gesture belonged to him. She wrote, “@masonthames dude slide 8. Don’t try to pass those flowers off as yours…… we both know who they were from. ” adding a laughing face emoji.
Grace responded, “laughing so hard he was carrying them proudly,” while Mason commented three emojis of a face putting a finger over its mouth, like “shh.”
Mason also posted his own reactions on Grace’s birthday update, writing, “I can’t fathom she’s 20” and “Beautiful BEAUTIFUL DAY.”
Beyond the birthday posts, both stars are busy on major projects. Grace is currently filming the upcoming live-action Scooby-Doo: Origins series for Netflix. Mason was recently announced to be filming an upcoming John Wick spinoff movie, Caine. They’re also set to star in another movie together, NIMRODS, and the trailer for it has been released.
Mason recently wrapped filming on How to Train Your Dragon 2, while Grace has been tapped for The Official Mistress with Paul Walter Hauser. Paul also has an unknown role in Scooby-Doo: Origins.
