A late-night shift at a McDonald’s in Oshkosh turned violent fast, and now court filings are laying out how a manager’s attempt to send an employee home ended with a shot to the foot.

Twenty-five-year-old Adam Samida pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct while using a deadly weapon. tied to an Oct.. 29, 2025 incident at the restaurant.. Prosecutors say the confrontation began as a workplace disagreement and quickly spiraled into threats. grappling. and the moment a firearm was pulled.

The criminal complaint. obtained by the Oshkosh Northwestern. says a manager told a coworker he planned to send Samida home because he “did not seem to be working his post.” The manager reportedly had also overheard Samida earlier complaining about his pay. and allegedly making a remark about robbing the restaurant.. Officials said the manager did not interpret that comment as a serious threat at the time.

Tensions rose after Samida was told to leave and refused.. The exchange escalated verbally. with authorities alleging Samida told his manager to “meet him outside.” Surveillance video. according to the complaint. shows the manager physically preventing Samida from exiting the restaurant by grabbing him.. During the altercation. both men allegedly traded threats. including the manager saying. “I will beat your a—” and “I will whoop you[r] a—. boy.”

The complaint further describes the manager “bear-hugged” Samida, tackled him to the floor, and later pulled him from a bathroom during the struggle.

During the fight, Adam Samida allegedly pulled a firearm from his waistband and shot the manager in the foot.. Authorities say the two continued wrestling briefly after the gunshot before Samida broke free and left the restaurant.. Police responded to the McDonald’s for a weapons complaint. found Samida at the scene. and he reportedly cooperated with officers. showing them the gun before his arrest.

Even with a shooting involved, the court sentenced Samida to 18 months of probation for the McDonald’s case after his no-contest plea, avoiding jail time in that matter. But his legal troubles did not end there.

WLUK reports he also received six months in jail for an unrelated December 2025 hit-and-run conviction, along with two additional years of probation and 30 hours of community service tied to that separate case.
