Mass. medical delivery worker charged after allegedly assaulting woman in wheelchair

A 39-year-old man was arrested by the East Bridgewater Police Department after allegedly assaulting a disabled woman in a wheelchair while delivering medicine to her home. 

Qaisar Ali, of Brockton, was charged on Aug. 5 with multiple assault and battery charges of an elderly or disabled person, the EBPD said in a press release. 

Responding to a report of an alleged assault, East Bridgewater Detective Cecilia Cacciatore determined that on Aug. 2, a man working for a pharmaceutical delivery service was delivering medicine to a woman, who was using a wheelchair due to severe mobility issues. The man entered the home without consent and repeatedly touched the woman inappropriately, police allege. 

Cacciatore identified the suspect as Ali and his vehicle as a white Toyota Camry in a preliminary investigation. 

An arrest warrant was obtained for Ali and on Aug. 5, police identified Ali’s vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop. 

He was arrested without incident and held on $10,000 bail. Ali was charged with three counts of assault and battery on an elderly or disabled person, two counts of indecent assault and battery on an elderly or disabled person, indecent exposure, breaking and entering in the daytime and assault with intent to commit rape. Ali was arraigned in Brockton District Court Thursday.
