Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 console and controller pre-orders are LIVE — stock available in the US and the UK!

Will anything sell out?

Based on what we saw for the UK launch, the products most at risk of selling out appear to be the Battle Yellow DualSense controller and the PS5 Pro console covers. Those were the first to become unavailable at PS Direct in the UK.

However, there’s still a lot of stock available of the controller at other retailers, so if you do miss out on something you want from PS Direct, definitely keep an eye on other retailers as a good amount of stock should also be available elsewhere.

Almost go time in the US

Less than 10 minutes to go now and it’s still just the PS Direct links in the US that are available (as well as the controller at Target). If you’re still in the queue for the site then you should be OK as the add to cart buttons aren’t live yet. They should switch over on or around 10am ET.

We have an early US preorder

Yep, just like the UK, one retailer has gone super early with its preorders for the Wolverine collection. That retailer this time is Target, where you can already place an order for the Battle Yellow DualSense.

OK folks, there’s just one hour to go until the Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 gear pre-orders officially start in the US (10am ET).

However, it pays to be prepared, especially with UK retailers having gone early this morning, so get those links opened, sign into your accounts and make sure your payment deets are correct!

US folks should be on the look out early

Given we saw UK retailers pull the trigger before the 10am start time on this side of the Atlantic, it’s worth US fans and shoppers bearing this in mind too.

Could we see someone break cover before 10am ET, which then means others will follow suit? Maybe! It’s not something that typically happens in the US, but worth bearing in mind this time for sure.

Ok, it’s basically time to start looking to US retailers now with US pre-orders beginning in less than two hours!

We’ll start rejigging the page to get those US links bumped up, but fear not, UK readers as those links will remain on the top of this page still!

Pre lunchtime sit rep

Here’s your pre-lunch UK sit rep on stock and availability. Aside from the PS5 Pro plates, stock is holding, and you can buy the other four products right now in the UK — which is great news!

However, we’re still only dealing with a few retailers, and PS Direct has sold out of the BNattl;e Yellow DualSense already — as well as those PS5 Pro plates.

It’s all strangely quiet…

I’m really surprised and fascinated by the lack of other major UK retailers still.

Biggest of them all is Amazon who are nowhere to be seen and we’re two hours into pre-orders being opened. Still no Argos, ShopTo, The Game Collection, EE, or Very either.

The Battle Yellow DualSense is still available elsewhere though

Despite PS Direct UK selling out of the Battle Yellow Dualsense, and the fact that all the usual retailers haven’t come to the party yet, UK folks can still get the yellow pad from the likes of Currys and Smyths Toys – links below!

Some big UK retailers still missing

We’re over half an hour since the ‘official’ pre-order time began and the likes of Argos, ShopTo, The Game Collection, EE, and others still haven’t come out to play — which is very weird.

These retailers must have known the interest would be high, so it’s a strange absence to see.

PS5 Pro plates gone already…

Wow, it seems like those PS5r Pro console covers of both colorways are already sold out!

Not actually a surprise in a way, given that Sony has released so few of these covers for the Pro, and the general popularity of Marvel’s Wolverine.

Still, worth trying the links for any cancelled orders or restocks! The PS5 slim plates are still available too.

Try different browsers and devices

If ytou’re having trouble on opne browser, then I recommend trying a secondary one (if you’re oin desktop) and also try mobile web pages and apps for retailers too.

I seemingly always have to use Firefox or mobile for PS Direct in the UK to secure my pre-orders, which is slightly annoying and is worth a try if you’re getting stuck when stock drops shortly.

Still all quiet elsewhere

There’s been no movement at other retailers following Currys leaping into action a little earlier than expected. Sometimes, if one goes, then the rest just follow, but it seems the rest are holding to that planned 10am launch time in the UK. We’re keeping our eyes peeled and are ready to pounce on any more preorders if we spot them, though.

I always look to pick up the latest DualSense controllers where I can, especially those with the best designs, and both Wolverine variants are strong contenders.

Good morning UK — only three hours to go!

Hello everyone!

It’s me, Rob, and I’m back to steer the Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 hardware ship today as we steamroll toward the UK pre-order start time of 10am, which is just under three hours away!

Plenty of time yet then, but I’ll be checking to see if any retailers are going early, updating all our links and info on this page, and keeping you informed!

I’m dipping out now myself, but we might have a few more updates over the next few hours to keep things spinning until the morning.

Either way, be sure to come back before 10am local time on Wednesday for when this limited edition drop goes live.

What to expect tomorrow

I think tomorrow’s preorders will go the same way as previous ones, with a fairly steady stream of drops on or after the announced time.

There may be a rogue retailer or two that jumps the gun early, but I wouldn’t expect to see much movement before that 10am launch time.

PlayStation Direct will likely be the easiest and most reliable option for most, though I think the likes of Best Buy in the US and Very in the UK will be quick to get listings live too.

Expect Amazon to be the slowest, based on history.

I saw Brand New Day this weekend and it got me thinking about whether I should return to Insomniac’s Spider-Man games at some point. I played Miles Morales and enjoyed it well enough, but I haven’t touched either of the main entries.

More to add to the eternal backlog, I guess?

It seems to be an even split between wanting the full Battle Yellow PS5 Bundle or nothing at all in our poll so far. Let’s see if we can guarantee that bundle for you from 10am tomorrow.

I’m donning the suit for a while

Hey folks, James Pickard here, taking over for a bit after Rob’s excellent opening work. Like him, I’ve spent many, many hours hunting down stock for limited-edition console and controller launches (and I was there in the dark times of the PS5 and Series X shortages), so this is a very familiar rodeo to me.

While I doubt this Wolverine one will be anywhere near as frenzied as those events, I imagine there’ll be decent demand for the controllers, especially — they are some really nice designs. Stick around and we’ll make sure you get those all-important preorder links as soon as they go live.
