Marvel Names Brad Winderbaum to Run Television

Brad Winderbaum has been tapped as Head of Marvel Television. Animation. Comics & Franchise. stepping into a role previously held by Dan Buckley.. Buckley. a longtime Marvel president and the shepherd of Marvel’s Comics & Franchise division. will resign as head of Comics & Franchise as the leadership shake-up takes effect.
Kevin Feige will remain where he is—President of Marvel Studios and Chief Creative Officer of Marvel—continuing to oversee the creative direction at the studio even as other corners of the company shift.
David Abdo, from Disney, is also moving into Marvel’s orbit. He will serve as General Manager of Comics & Franchise for Marvel going forward.
In a statement, Feige framed the appointment as a deliberate pairing of skills. He said, “Brad’s exceptional creative leadership and David’s deep experience in operations and digital innovation will be a powerful pairing as we begin building out the next 90 years of Marvel’s comic book legacy.”
Feige added that Winderbaum brings “a proven ability to lead creative teams and craft ongoing. episodic narratives that resonate with our fans around the world. ” while Abdo offers “a strong track record of operational excellence and strategic growth.” The statement closed with Feige saying he was “excited for what they’ll be able to do together.”
