In Game 6 against the Anaheim Ducks. the winger’s quick strike and decisive playmaking helped spark a 5-1. series-clinching victory that sends Vegas back to the Western Conference Final for the first time since the franchise’s 2023 Stanley Cup run.
Coming into Thursday night. Marner was already central to Vegas’s playoff surge. arriving with his club tied for the Round 2 scoring lead alongside Team Canada teammate Nathan MacKinnon.. Thursday’s game saw the 28-year-old score his eighth postseason goal after collecting just 12 in the regular season. quickly turning his playoff run into a new career high in playoff scoring.

Anaheim, for all the results turning against them, brought real energy from its young core.. Beckett Sennecke. only 20. entered Game 6 with goals in four straight. including scoring in both of the Ducks’ wins in the series.. His streak was halted by a veteran Golden Knights group that held him and other young starters off the board.
Alongside Sennecke, Anaheim’s young stars—Cutter Gauthier (22), Leo Carlsson (21), and Jackson LaCombe (25)—were kept from scoring in Game 6.. Sennecke did generate opportunities, firing a team-leading five shots on goal, but he couldn’t find the breakthrough.. Even so, he finished tied for the team lead in goals during this playoff run.
For Anaheim, the end result is painful, but the campaign still carried a message. After missing the playoffs for much of the past decade, the Ducks turned their youthful group into performance during these playoffs and signaled to the Western Conference that their progress wasn’t a fluke.
