Former Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is accusing the Trump administration of discussing the possible use of nuclear weapons against Iran, a claim the White House has forcefully denied.

Greene, who resigned from the House in January after a public falling out with President Donald Trump, made the allegation on X as she continued criticizing the administration’s handling of the Iran conflict.

In her post, Greene said the administration was “discussing using nuclear weapons on Iran” during recent strategy meetings.

“Yes, you read that correctly. It’s real. I’m not speculating, I know,” Greene said. “And it’s pure evil.”

The White House rejected Greene’s account, saying the former congresswoman no longer has insight into administration deliberations.

“Marjorie ‘Quitter’ Greene has no idea what she is talking about. The former congresswoman disgracefully quit on her constituents during the middle of her term and wants to pretend like she has insight into the president’s thinking. She is completely out of the loop and should quit spreading fake news,” White House spokesperson Davis Ingle said in a statement to USA Today.

Greene has emerged as a vocal conservative opponent of the Iran war, aligning herself on the issue with figures including Rep. Thomas Massie and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. Her former House seat was filled by MAGA supporter Clay Fuller in a May special election.

Since leaving Congress, Greene has remained politically active and has repeatedly attacked Trump and his administration over the past several months.

Trump, meanwhile, reiterated that preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon remains his top objective.

“The number one goal is, and always will be, that Iran cannot have, in any way, shape or form, a nuclear weapon. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Greene also claimed internal U.S. intelligence had concluded that “Iran was nowhere near creating a nuclear weapon,” while Israeli officials told Trump the country was “weeks away” from developing one.

“So we bombed anyways, killed their leaders and innocent little children in a school and Iran has controlled the Strait of Hormuz ever since and punished the region for their part in it. And now our government is the one actually discussing lowering the nuclear threshold in order to use nuclear weapons against Iran even though Trump claims he’s won the war like 40 times and says the U.S. controls the [strait],” Greene wrote.

She warned that any nuclear strike could trigger a “nuclear holocaust” and push the world into “conflict, economic depression and mass human suffering.”

Greene also called on the Trump administration to end the war and warned that “ALL those in leadership right now” would be held “fully responsible for the rest of human history.”
