TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A death investigation has shut down Marana High School today, September 8.
In a note to families and staff, school officials said “All staff who had reported to work are safe, and the campus is secure and closed while law enforcement conducts their investigation.”
The Marana Police Department says officers responded at 6:47 a.m. after a body was found on school grounds.
The MPD says preliminary information indicates an individual broke into the campus early this morning around 1:30 and was later discovered by staff.
The individual has been identified as a Marana High School student.
Police say this appears to be an isolated incident involving a single person and there is no danger to the public.
