Makai Lemon builds his perfect USC football wide receiver

Former USC wide receiver Makai Lemon chose from a long list of USC football legends at his alma mater’s game vs. Fresno State.

USC football shut out the Fresno State Bulldogs 39-0 on Friday at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, a game that was attended by Philadelphia Eagles receiver and former Trojans star Makai Lemon.

The game was marked by a strong performance from true freshman receiver Trent Mosley, who led USC in receiving with four catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns in a banner day from his quarterback Jayden Maiava, who has garnered first-round NFL Draft hype as a result.

Lemon was given a chance to shout out the Trojans’ growing tradition of top-flight wide receivers on the sidelines during the game, when he was asked to build his perfect wide receiver from USC’s long line of standout players.

Lemon didn’t hesitate to make his first pick as he chose former Trojans star and current Detroit Lions star Amon-Ra St. Brown in the route-running department. In the hands department, Lemon picked former USC star Drake London, who now plays for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons.

In the size department, Lemon chose former Trojan and current Pittsburgh Steelers pass catcher Michael Pittman Jr., and Lemon threw a curveball on his last pick, choosing ex-Philadelphia Eagles cornerback and return man Adoree Jackson, who also played receiver during his time with the Trojans, catching 39 passes.

Coach Lincoln Riley and his staff have become one of the best in the country at developing wide receiver talent, and Trent Mosley’s early season performances have added compelling evidence. Next up for the Trojans is another home game against the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns, which could further cement Mosley as the next great USC Trojans receiver to watch going forward.
