The newest edition of the Madden video game is two weeks away from its August 13th release date, and there is one Patriots player who is ranked above everyone else at his position.
Christian Gonzalez is the highest-ranked cornerback in the game at 98 overall.
Seven other cornerbacks earned a rating of 90 overall or higher: Denver’s Patrick Surtain II, Los Angeles’s Trent McDuffie, Cleveland’s Denzel Ward, Houston’s Derek Stingley Jr., Seattle’s Devon Witherspoon, Chicago’s Jaylon Johnson, and Indianapolis’s Sauce Gardner.
Six players earned the coveted “99 overall” rating: Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase, Seahawks receiver Jaxon Smith Njigba, Bills quarterback Josh Allen, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, Cardinals tight-end Trey McBride, and Rams defensive end Myles Garrett.
Gonzalez, one of five players with a 98 overall rating, is the top-ranked player on the Patriots. Drake Maye is 92 overall, good for sixth among quarterbacks. A.J. Brown, rated 89 overall, is not in the top ten for wide receivers.
Milton Williams’s rating has not been released yet. He was 86 overall last year.
Defensive end Gabe Jacas is New England’s top-ranked rookie at 76 overall. First-round pick Caleb Lomu is 75 overall. Halfback Jam Miller and cornerback Karon Prunty are 68 overall.
Offensive lineman Dametrious Crownover, linebacker Namdi Obiazor, and defensive end Quintayvious Hutchins ae 67 overall. Tight-end Eli Raridon is 64 overall.
The official worldwide release date for Madden 27 is Aug. 13, but early access can be purchased as soon as Aug. 6.
