When you buy a fitness tracker today, the device is often just the entry fee. The real cost comes later, in monthly subscriptions that keep some of the most valuable health insights locked behind paywalls.

Luna is betting that buyers are tired of that pattern.

The company behind the Oura Ring is preparing to launch its first screenless fitness band in July 2026. 1. Good, sick of subscriptions for everything. If it’s really subscription free then that’s a big deal. Still tho I wanna see if they hide features behind an app anyway.

  2. Wait Luna Ring company makes this band and it’s “screenless” so there’s no display right? How do you even change settings or see battery or your steps then? I feel like this is just gonna be another paywall but for the companion app.

  3. July 4 preorders and ship July 31… that’s like forever away. But Oura already got people paying, so I’m curious if they’ll still charge for bloodwork or whatever “health logging” stuff it does. Also the AI integrations (Siri/Gemini) feel like marketing fluff to me. I’d just want it to track sleep and be accurate without begging for a monthly fee.
