“Love on the Spectrum” star Dani Bowman says she feels disrespected by the r-word’s growing presence in pop culture, calling out both “Euphoria” and Dwayne Johnson after the slur appeared in high-profile comedy moments.

Dani Bowman wasn’t holding back when she sat down at Gus & Andy’s in Montrose, telling reporters she’s fed up with the r-word showing up “liberally” in mainstream entertainment.

Bowman. known for “Love on the Spectrum. ” said the word has felt disheartening since the early episodes of “Euphoria. ” arguing it’s neither funny nor edgy.. She added that people have spent years pushing for the term to be removed from everyday language. and she’s frustrated it’s “wormed its way back” into pop culture.

When the conversation shifted to Dwayne Johnson, Bowman said she respects the actor but believes he “seriously screwed up” for using the slur during Kevin Hart’s roast—where Johnson called Draymond Green “Dret***ed.”

Bowman described the impact on her personally, saying the heavy use of the word makes her feel disrespected. In her view, using it in entertainment sends the message that people are putting down every member of the disabled community.

Sheryl Underwood had defended Johnson’s choice by saying comedy follows a different set of rules. Bowman pushed back, laying out her response directly as she made clear she’s not letting it slide.
