Love Island USA is returning for Season 8, premiering Tuesday on Peacock, with a new group of singles heading in for the kinds of decisions that drive recouplings, dumpings, and bombshell entrances. They’re all playing for love—and for the $100,000 prize.

Still, the show’s start isn’t happening without disruption. One Islander, Vasana Montgomery, was removed days before the premiere after allegedly using a racial slur in resurfaced social media videos.

Among the cast now stepping into the spotlight are athletes, entertainers, and people balancing high-stakes dating hopes with real-life work and family backgrounds—each arriving with their own reason for being there.

Aniya Harvey, 23, is from Tyrone, Ga., and she’s the daughter of former NBA player Donnell Harvey. In the villa. she says she wants to be “courted. ” and she doesn’t sound interested in wasting time with someone who won’t show effort. “No one wants a guy that’s nonchalant, not giving you the time of day,” she says. “You’re giving loser, and no one wants that, and I’ve done the bums.”.

Beatriz Hatz, 25, is from San Diego and comes in as a Paralympic track-and-field athlete. She competed at both the 2020 and 2024 Games and won a bronze medal at the latter in the women’s long jump T64. She’s also bringing a blunt attitude about priorities. “I’m not going to compete for a man — he’s not a medal,” she says.

Bryce Dettloff, 29, lives in Los Angeles and is described as a model, DJ, and handyman. He says he’s reached the point in life where he wants something serious. and he frames his search for a relationship around growing up quickly. “I’m like getting old. I’m turning 30 soon. The kids are calling me unc now.”.

Gabriel Vasconcelos is 26 and from Miami. He says he’ll “bring the Brazilian fire” to the villa, leaning into language as part of his approach. “I speak Spanish, Portuguese and English. If I wanna approach you, I’ll be speaking your language, but making out is my love language.”

KC Chandler, 23, is from Fresno, Calif., and works as a nursing assistant. He believes his job gives him a dating advantage—especially around how he looks and how people read confidence. “If you’re a man and you have scrubs, your muscles showing a little bit, they are going for that every time.”

Kenzie Annis, 24, is from Kennesaw, Ga., and works as a nurse and nanny. After spending the past year and a half single, she says she’s ready to get back into dating. “I’m so starving for some boys.”

Moreno, 24, is from Los Angeles and works as a manager at a bikini store. She’s treating her love life like something you might sort through in a shop—trying to laugh her way into a better match. “The ones in the damaged bin, that’s like a bikini that describes my dating life,” she jokes.

Sean Reifel, 29, is from Easton, Pa., and he’s a police officer and the father of a young son. His path to the villa runs through family pride, and he describes the shift that came with fatherhood. “Being told you’re a father was the craziest 180 for me. I am so proud to be his dad.”

Sincere Rhea is 25 and from Cape May, N.J. He describes himself as a “ladies’ man,” and he jokes about whether he has the kind of wandering attention people notice. “Do I have a wandering eye? I have two, for sure.”

Trinity Tatum, 23, is from Newport News, Va., and works as a model. She’s looking for a fresh start and wants someone who matches her confidence. “I don’t want a guy who’s a side character. I need the main character because I know I am the prize.”

Zach Georgiou is 26 and from Birmingham, U.K., and he’s following in his brother Charlie’s footsteps, who took part in Season 7 of Love Island USA. Zach says he’s there to see if he can do better and find love. “I’m here to see if I can do better than him and find love.”

The cast going in now is a wide mix—athletes and performers. people with public-facing jobs. and those coming to the show with life updates that sound less like fantasy and more like real preparation. But it’s also a season that begins with an abrupt removal only days before the premiere. after alleged language resurfaced online.
