Peacock’s betting on the show’s on-the-go fanbase, too. Season 8 debuted with 23% phone and tablet usage—higher than any other Peacock original in its launch window. And the show’s momentum isn’t staying quiet online, with more than 43M video views across platforms.

On the series itself. the stakes are familiar to anyone who’s followed the show: Love Island USA is a dating series in which a group of singles searches for love. 1. Casa Amor in theaters?? Like a movie-movie? People really go to theaters for reality shows now.

  2. Wait so they’re shipping the villa to 28 theaters? I thought that’s what streaming was for lol. Also June 22 at 9pm ET is weird time for a “date” show.

  3. I don’t get why this is a big deal. It’s just episodes with extra drama right? Like 824M minutes viewed sounds fake, unless they’re counting TikTok clips or something. Either way I’m glad they’re using Fandango so I can pretend it’s a real premiere.

  4. Love Island in theaters is gonna be a mess. Half the people will be scrolling, and then acting shocked when they see the “bombshell twists” like they didn’t already spoil it online. Also June 22… isn’t that like right after school ends? So that’s when the teens will be there? Idk I just don’t trust reality on a big screen.
