Temperatures will reach the mid 30s today with the Met Office expecting a maximum of 33 °C with weather warnings issued. Working conditions will push staff – specifically hospitality workers – to their limits with a number of restaurants, bakeries and venues unwilling to tackle the heat. So is it like we’re just supposed to magically work through the heat? If restaurants are closing then where do people even get lunch? It’s not even that hot compared to like… I dunno Texas.
I don’t get it, they say weather warnings and mid 30s but my cousin said it was fine yesterday. Maybe the real issue is people calling in sick and using the heat as an excuse. Also schools closing feels like an overreaction but then again I guess they don’t have AC in classrooms?
This is gonna mess everything up. If attractions close early and events are cancelled, then the small places in town are basically dead for the day. I work near there and they’re acting like it’s the apocalypse, but like… how hot can it really get before they let people sit inside with fans? Seems like the workers are the ones paying the price.
