Lito Sousa dies, influencer and Palmeiras fan

Influencer Lito Sousa died this Thursday, the 1st, at the age of 59. Lito was an international aircraft mechanic, with more than 35 years working in the aviation industry. He became well known after creating the YouTube channel Aviões e Música. Lito Sousa spoke with ease about the most complex topics in the world of aviation.

His passing was announced by his wife, Mila Seidl, in an emotional video posted on social media. In August, Lito was diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), a rare and progressive neurodegenerative disease.

The caption read: “A big hug and until the next flight. It was an honor to have traveled with you. I love you. Always.” Lito Sousa became one of the most respected professionals in the field and was often invited to appear on TV shows and podcasts to talk about aviation.

In one part of the text read by Lito Sousa’s wife, Mila Seidl recalled how many followers began following his work because of their fear of flying.

“The great commander decided to take you close to him, close to your parents and your brother. Why? I was told that good people, who fulfill their mission with excellence, go to be with God more quickly. I can’t explain your passing. Maybe no one can. But looking at the life you lived, I know you fulfilled your mission. All of Brazil loves you because you made us feel safer to continue the journey,” Mila said.

Lito Sousa was a passionate Palmeiras supporter. His relationship with the club was close, and it was common to see the influencer at the club’s matches at Nubank Parque. Lito had a close relationship with Abel Ferreira.

Already hospitalized for treatment of the disease, Lito was honored by Palmeiras on the day of the club’s 112th anniversary. He recorded a video that was shown on the stadium’s giant screen, while his wife represented him during the tribute on the pitch at Nubank Parque.
