Lisa Faulkner says breast cancer found after mammogram

Lisa Faulkner has revealed that she is battling breast cancer , and is urging other women not to put off getting a mammogram. The EastEnders actress and TV chef, who is 54, has been married to John Torode , an Australian-British celebrity chef and TV presenter, since 2019. She shared the news of her recent diagnosis on social media today, explaining that the reason she has been missing from Instagram is that she had to undergo surgery two weeks ago as a result of breast
cancer . “Hi there. I just wanted to come on because I know I’ve been very quiet on here. The reason being that I’ve had to have surgery because I’ve had the very early stages of breast cancer. “So, I had surgery two weeks ago, and it was quite a big op, but it’s all good, and I’ve had my results back, and they’ve got everything out,” Lisa explained. “So it’s all clear, and I just need now to have some radiotherapy in a few
weeks. “I just wanted to say that yeah, I’ve still got quite a bit of healing to do, but I’m good. I’m well and feeling so much better, and I’m so grateful that I went for my mammogram. I just wanted to say don’t put them off, go, because they found this, and without that mammogram, it wouldn’t have been picked up. “I want to say thank you to our wonderful NHS, and the fact that we can have these mammograms, and we can get
treatment early and treated quickly. I will see you all soon.” Plenty of supportive comments quickly rolled in, with one person writing: “Oh darling. Sending you huge amounts of love and healing hugs. I’m so pleased you went for your mammogram x”. A second said: “Oh Lisa, I am so sorry to hear this. Sending love to you, John and your family xxx”. While a third wrote: “So pleased they caught it early Lisa and that you are on the road to recovery. I too
had my mammogram a couple of years ago and they found pre cancer before it had even become a thing! They removed the area and like you, am so grateful I went for my mammogram. I absolutely urge every woman to go. Sending much love.” Want to see more of the stories you love from RSVP ? To add RSVP as a preferred source of news on Google, simply click here
