Lexi Minetree and June Diane Raphael weren’t waiting for the countdown to begin.
On Monday, June 22, the two actresses were spotted filming scenes for Elle season 2 in Uptown Manhattan in New York. The production appeared to be set in front of the NBC News building—or a building made to look like it.
Shiri Appleby was also on set, and she appeared to be directing the episode being filmed. For their scenes, Minetree’s character was dressed in a pink ensemble and accessorized with a taxi cab purse. Raphael’s look leaned more formal: a long cream-colored coat paired with matching white pumps.
The timing is part of the pull. Elle season 1 hasn’t premiered yet on Prime Video, but Amazon has already greenlit a second season. In the series, Lexi Minetree plays a young version of Reese Witherspoon‘s character from the 2001 movie, while June Diane Raphael stars as Elle’s mom, Eva Woods.
The cast also includes Tom Everett Scott, Chandler Kinney, Jacob Moskovitz, Gabrielle Policano, and Zac Looker. With the first season still set to debut, it’s hard to say which of them will be back for season 2 when it moves forward.
A big moment for the franchise already happened earlier this month, when the original cast of Legally Blonde reunited for the film’s 25th anniversary at a special “Elle’s World” pop-up to promote the upcoming series premiere.
