Leclerc tops Monaco 2026 practice as times tighten

Charles Leclerc led the Monaco Grand Prix 2026 practice session with a best time of 1:13.978, setting the early pace as Lewis Hamilton (1:14.204) and Max Verstappen (1:14.491) sat close behind.

Charles Leclerc put his name at the top of the timing screens in Monaco Grand Prix 2026 practice, lighting up the session with a best lap of 1:13.978.

The Ferrari driver was quick off the mark and stayed there, ahead of Lewis Hamilton, who followed with 1:14.204. Max Verstappen then slotted in third at 1:14.491, keeping the Red Bull firmly in the mix behind two of the session’s key pace-setters.

Behind them, the gap between the chasing pack and the front looked tight enough to keep the mood restless. Kimi Antonelli went fourth on 1:14.537, with George Russell close behind at 1:14.983. Lando Norris posted a 1:15.291, while Nico Hülkenberg came in at 1:15.343.

Sergio Perez came in at 1:16.170, with Franco Colapinto at 1:16.189. Oliver Bearman ran to 1:16.292, and Arvid Lindblad posted 1:16.389. Liam Lawson followed at 1:16.431, then Fernando Alonso finished at 1:16.678.

Valtteri Bottas turned in 1:17.460, with Lance Stroll completing the list at 1:17.556.

The pattern was plain even from the top: Monaco’s practice pace clustered around a narrow band, with Leclerc’s 1:13.978 the benchmark and the rest chasing fractions rather than fresh daylight.
