Law Roach says Zendaya’s wedding dress outshone AI

Weeks after Tom Holland confirmed he and Zendaya secretly married, Law Roach has pushed back against viral AI-generated wedding images—saying the real dress was “better” and that the fakes were nowhere close.

On June 29, Law Roach was asked about a set of AI-generated wedding photos that had been making the rounds online—images so convincing that members of Tom Holland’s own family briefly believed they were real. Roach’s response landed with a laugh.

“The dress was not good enough,” Roach said during a June 29 appearance on Good Morning America, where hosts Michael Strahan and Lara Spencer immediately broke into laughter. After a beat, Roach added, “Trust me, the dress is better than that.”

When Spencer followed up—whether the final design looked anything like the viral fake photos—Roach didn’t hedge. “Absolutely not.” In the AI images. Zendaya is shown in a lace veil and a cream-colored gown with thin straps and a sculpted bodice. Roach’s point was blunt: those details weren’t the wedding look Zendaya actually wore.

The timing matters. Roach’s comments arrive weeks after Holland confirmed that he and Zendaya had indeed tied the knot in a secret wedding. Months earlier, the idea had been building quietly. Back in March, Zendaya’s longtime stylist was the first person from her inner circle to let the secret slip. Soon after. AI wedding photos began circulating online with such clarity that some of Holland’s relatives reportedly believed they were real.

Roach had also weighed in on the rumor before Holland’s confirmation. While attending the Actor Awards on March 1, Roach appeared to confirm the speculation, telling a reporter, “The wedding has already happened. You missed it!”

The chatter then found more fuel in small, telltale moments. Zendaya was spotted wearing a gold band alongside her usual engagement ring two nights later. and two weeks after that she was overheard accepting well-wishes from attendees at Essence’s Black Women in Hollywood Awards on March 12. The wedding talk kept growing while Zendaya was also promoting The Drama. a romantic thriller about an engaged couple that she stars in alongside Robert Pattinson.

Behind the scenes, the sequence moved from hints to confirmation. In January. news broke that Zendaya and Holland had gotten engaged during the stretch between Christmas and New Year’s Day. following a holiday proposal at one of the actresses’ family homes. Then. after months of speculation. it wasn’t until June—once Holland could address the AI images directly—that he confirmed what had already been swirling.

In an Esquire UK conversation about the fake wedding photos, Holland said his grandmother saw them and believed she wasn’t invited. The reporter then asked if he had to have similar conversations with other family members.

“No, because they were all there,” Holland said. “That’s all you’ll get on that.”

Holland offered no additional specifics about the wedding. but described their relationship with Zendaya in unusually personal terms. saying it is “the happiest I have ever been.” He added. “Our business can present very stressful situations and it’s really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time.”.

In the end, Roach’s latest remarks weren’t just about styling. They were a direct rebuttal to the idea that AI images could stand in for something real—something people close to the couple were ready to believe, even when the details didn’t match.
