LaVar Ball says his marriage to Tina Ball has ended after 30 years, confirming she filed for divorce. Speaking during a livestream with N3on, Ball said Tina “decided to go her own way,” and he said he has already moved on to a new love interest.
LaVar Ball didn’t bring his announcement to a stage. He delivered it during a livestream with N3on. speaking in the same blunt. personal tone his fans have come to expect. By the end of the session. one detail was clear: after 30 years together. the Big Baller Brand founder says he and Tina Ball are headed for divorce.
Ball said Tina “decided to go her own way,” and that he doesn’t want to make the split into a fight. “She wanted to go do something else that’s fine with me we had our run.. it is what it is,” he said, describing the relationship as something they had “our run” with—then leaving it at that.
He also acknowledged what Tina has been dealing with over the years. Ball said she suffered a stroke in 2017 and has been living with aphasia since then. He framed her long-term presence in his life with tenderness. saying she was “always beautiful” to him “until you say. ‘I want to go something else.’”.
From there, his message turned to what he sees as the trade-off of making a break. “Now you’re not as beautiful to me again,” he said, before adding, “The fact that if you decide to go this way, I’m going to go that way, that’s fine. It is what it is, man.”
Ball confirmed he has already found a new relationship. “And like I said, anytime you can find somebody you can stay in love with for a long time or for one day or whatever, if you can witness that love, that’s good. I had that with her. And I found somebody else, but it is what it is,” he said.
He did not explain why Tina filed for divorce. Ball’s account focused instead on his acceptance of her decision and his own move forward.
The couple met at Cal State Los Angeles. They married in 1997 and built a family around three sons: Lonzo Ball, LiAngelo Ball, and LaMelo Ball. While Lonzo and LiAngelo are not currently listed on teams, LaMelo is a star player for the Charlotte Hornets.
Across all of it, the timeline has been difficult as well as long. Tina’s stroke came in 2017, and Ball says she’s been dealing with aphasia since. On Ball’s side, he reported that his right foot was amputated in February 2025.
In the span of a livestream, Ball managed to say several things at once—acknowledge the years, reference the health struggles, concede that Tina wanted to “go do something else,” and admit that his personal life has already shifted.
