Fans flooded the Oxford airport as Lane Kiffin prepared to leave Ole Miss in one of college football’s wildest moments.
It’s no secret how Mississippi fans feel about Lane Kiffin, but the LSU coach appeared to show how he feels about his former team.
Ahead of the highly anticipated matchup between Kiffin’s LSU team and his former Rebels team, the Tigers coach threw a ball into the stands of Vaught Hemingway Stadium as his squad finished up warming up for kick off. While it appeared to not be that harmful in nature, it does feel like Kiffin showed some distaste back at the side that’s been showing it all day long in Oxford, Mississippi.
Kiffin is coaching his first game at Ole Miss after his tumultuous departure from the Rebels, which became a frenzy that resulted in him taking the LSU job before Ole Miss played in the College Football Playoff. There has been hatred brewing from the Ole Miss side ever since for leaving his team in the middle of a run for the national championship, leading to a massive showdown on Saturday, Sept. 19.
Kiffin appeared in a virtual interview for ESPN’s “College GameDay” taking place at Ole Miss, and he was showered with boos from the crowd even though he wasn’t in-person for the talk. When it came time to take the field, the feelings remained as he receiver a heavy chorus of boos when taking the field before he threw the ball into the stands.
