‘Landman’ Fans, You’ll Have to Wait a Little Longer for Season 3

There’s good news and bad news for Landman fans. The good news? Season 3 is happening. The bad news? You’re going to have to wait longer than expected to watch it. Production on the Paramount+ drama has been delayed, likely ruling out a 2026 return.

The latest update comes from series star James Jordan, who plays Dale Bradley. According to Jordan, filming is now expected to begin sometime in September and continue through the first quarter of 2027.

That’s a shift from the show’s usual schedule, with both previous seasons of the Taylor Sheridan show premiering in November. Earlier this year, fans had even hoped production would begin in the spring, while Billy Bob Thornton later said filming was expected to start toward the end of August.

Now, with production potentially running into early next year, a Season 3 premiere in the next few months appears to be off the table. Paramount+ has not announced an official premiere date, but based on the latest production timeline, fans will likely be waiting until 2027 to see Tommy Norris back in action.

Why Is Landman Season 3 Delayed?

There doesn’t seem to be any reason for Landman fans to worry about the show’s future. The series is renewed and moving forward—the holdup simply comes down to the production schedule. And with Taylor Sheridan juggling plenty of projects, it’s no surprise that things are getting a little busy!

Billy Bob Thornton previously explained that filming was expected to begin later than originally planned, with his own music commitments among the scheduling considerations. Jordan’s latest update suggests the production timeline has shifted again, with filming now expected to begin in September and continue into early 2027.

And while waiting isn’t exactly what fans wanted to hear, there is at least plenty of Landman still ahead.

What Will Landman Season 3 Be About?

As for what’s in store for the new season, details are still under wraps. But with Taylor Sheridan behind the series, a little mystery is pretty typical.

When fans last saw Tommy Norris, played by Thornton, his life had taken a major turn. After being fired from M-Tex Oil, Tommy was preparing to strike out on his own, leaving plenty of questions about what comes next for him. Season 2 also left several other characters with complicated futures of their own.

But Jordan has teased that Season 3 will consist of 10 episodes, describing them as “crazy, wonderful, funny, and wild.” So, it sounds like the wait will be worth it!

Who Is Returning for Landman Season 3?

Thornton is expected to return as Tommy, and the Season 3 cast is expected to include several familiar faces from the first two seasons. Demi Moore, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Paulina Chávez, Colm Feore, James Jordan, Kayla Wallace, and Sam Elliott have all been associated with the show’s returning ensemble.

In the meantime, there’s always one solution: It’s time for a Landman rewatch!
