Con Christopoulos opens in Seddon as La Belle Miette closes

What’s happening around town • After opening its first permanent location in Hawthorn East last year, tiramisu shop Siora will soon launch a second site, this time in on Charles Street in Seddon. • La Belle Miette, the French patisserie on the top end of Collins Street, will close on Sunday, May 24, after almost 13 years on the street.   1. So Seddon gets another dessert place but Hawthorn East already had Siora… I swear Melbourne can’t go 2 mins without a new cafe opening. Maybe the old ones should survive the redevelopment thing lol.

  2. Con Christopoulos opening in Seddon? I thought that was already a place, like I’ve been there. Also isn’t Rome like… near Italy, how is that “no place like Rome” for food news here? Idk I’m confused.

  3. Pandan Dessert Bar closing makes me mad, cendol is the whole vibe. They said last day May 17 but I didn’t even know it existed until TikTok, so now it’s gone like everything else. Redevelopment this, instagram that… next they’ll close Pandan for “luxury apartments” or whatever.
