For fans who plan to watch the 2026 World Cup under open skies, Los Angeles is ready—starting this week, free watch parties will roll out across both Los Angeles County parks and City of Los Angeles park sites.

The tournament begins Thursday. with Mexico facing South Africa in Mexico City and South Korea taking on Czechia in Guadalajara. Mexico. Then it moves north on Friday, when Canada plays Bosnia-Herzegovina in Toronto. Inglewood is the next stop for U.S. viewers: the United States opens Group D play against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium.

Los Angeles County’s events will feature live match broadcasts on a giant LED screen. according to an LA County Parks news release. The gatherings are designed to be family-friendly and multi-generational. In addition to the games. they include youth soccer clinics. family-friendly games. refreshments. halftime snacks. and inflatable attractions—such as a giant soccer dart game.

The City of Los Angeles is running its own effort. called “Kick It In the Park. ” described as a partnership between the Office of Mayor Karen Bass. Los Angeles Council Districts. and the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. Like the county events. it will broadcast games on large LED screens. but it centers programming around youth soccer clinics. neighborhood programming. and community resources.

County events are scheduled to begin between Friday and June 26, with each party starting one hour before kickoff. The listed park locations and start times for LA County Parks are:

Stephen Sorensen Park, 16801 E. Ave. P, Palmdale, 93591 — Friday at 5 p.m. Walnut Nature Park, 7818 Pacific Blvd., Huntington Park, 90255 — June 18 at 5 p.m. Amelia Mayberry Park, 13201 E. Meyer Rd., Whittier, 90605 — June 24 at 5 p.m. George Lane Park, 5520 West Ave. L8, Quartz Hill, 93536 — June 25 at 6 p.m. El Cariso Regional Park, 13100 Hubbard St., Sylmar, 91342 — June 26 at 4 p.m.

City park watch parties will span 19 sites across Los Angeles. Among the listed locations are MacArthur Park at 2230 W. 6th St.; Sycamore Grove at 4702 N. Figueroa St.; Whitsett Fields Park at 6952 Whitsett Ave.; and Lanark Recreation Center at 21816 Lanark St. For additional sites beyond those named here, the city directs participants to the LA city website.

The city also asks people to bring blankets, chairs, snacks, and a reusable water bottle. Alcohol sale, possession, and consumption is not permitted.
