When the Cavaliers gathered again to mark the 10-year anniversary of their championship run, Kyrie Irving wasn’t in the room.

Irving wasn’t part of the celebration to remember Cleveland’s NBA Finals win over the Golden State Warriors, and that absence stood out. Still, he made sure the moment didn’t pass without a public reminder of what they accomplished together.

On his official Instagram, Irving posted an image featuring the entire roster and head coach Tyronn Lue. The caption was direct and personal: “All for one. One for all. WE completed the mission together as brothers, and that’s all that matters to me…”

The reunion itself took place this week in the United Kingdom, centered on golf and wine. Several members of the team—LeBron James, Kevin Love, and Iman Shumpert among them—came together to look back on the Finals win and the decade that followed.

Irving’s name wasn’t attached to the trip, but the connection wasn’t completely severed. J.R. Smith confirmed in an Instagram comment that he had been in touch with Irving.

Friday marked the official anniversary of the victory, with Game 7 played on June 19, 2016. That championship still holds a unique place in NBA history: the Cavaliers remain the only team to overcome a 3-1 series deficit in the Finals and win it all.

For Irving, that moment has never been just a memory. He was responsible for what can reasonably be argued as the biggest shot in Cavaliers history. His three with 53 seconds remaining put Cleveland up 92-89.

The Finals themselves were defined by the way James and Irving played together. Over the seven games, they combined for some of the most explosive production the league had ever seen from a star tandem, averaging 56.8 points, 15.2 rebounds, and 12.8 assists per contest.

The 2016 Finals also carried another layer of inevitability. It marked the second of four consecutive matchups between the Cavaliers and the Warriors. Golden State went 3-1 overall across that stretch. but Cleveland’s single win in 2016 is the one that still feels permanent—one of the most iconic series in NBA history.

The story of the reunion is still being written, even if the date on the calendar is already fixed. Irving’s post didn’t join the trip in person. but it did land with the same message the team has repeated since that run—brotherhood. shared work. and the feeling that the mission was completed together.
