KPop Demon Hunters lands a Derpy Lego set

Lego and Netflix have released the first KPop Demon Hunters tie-in: a Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird set priced at $70, available for pre-order now with shipping set to begin on August 1.

Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird are getting their own place on store shelves.

Lego and Netflix have released the first KPop Demon Hunters Lego set, built around Jinu’s supernatural pet familiars. The set focuses on Derpy the tiger and Sussie the bird, with a six-eyed magpie perched on Derpy’s head.

What makes the build feel made for play is the set’s small bit of clever storage. Derpy’s head is hollow, so once you’re done moving pieces around, the back can pop off. That compartment is meant for the tongue accessory. the flowerpot. and the selection of friendship notes that can sit on Derpy’s tongue.

The creatures aren’t just generic fantasy animals. They’re inspired by Kkachi horangi, a style of often satirical Korean folk art featuring magpies and tigers. As part of that theme. the set includes models of the two creatures. a flowerpot. and the friendship-note pieces designed to pair with the tiger’s tongue.

Even the marketing detail has a wink to it: the Lego website clarifies that Derpy isn’t evil. It’s a small reassurance that feels almost necessary for a character being pulled from a darker Netflix universe.

Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird is available to pre-order today for $70. Shipping is expected to begin on August 1, putting the first Lego entry from the movie into the hands of fans ahead of whatever the next tie-in brings.

  1. The $70 price tag is wild for what sounds like a couple animals and some notes? But if it’s shipping Aug 1 then I guess people will buy it anyway lol. Also “Derpy isn’t evil”?? why they gotta reassure that.

  2. Wait are the six eyes like demons or is that just a tiger thing? I thought this was a whole KPop Demon Hunters set with minifigs and stuff but it’s just the pet familiars… I mean still cute, but I feel tricked by the headline.

  3. Lego + Netflix tie-ins always feel like cash grabs but I will say the hollow head storage with the tongue piece is actually kinda genius. Friendship notes on a tongue though?? That feels like something my brain isn’t ready for. I’m also confused about the Kkachi horangi part—like is that real Korean folk art or they just said words to sound legit? Either way pre-ordering for my niece probably.
