Brooks Koepka made one of his strongest starts since his return to the PGA Tour, making eight birdies and two bogeys to earn a share of the lead with a six-under 64 at the Canadian Open. Ireland’s Shane Lowry is still in the hunt for his first win of the PGA Tour season, finishing one shot off the lead on five under, but will be disappointed with his performance on the back nine, finding a single birdie on the 18th after notching four on the
front nine of the course. Meanwhile, David Skinns made five birdies and was the surprise leader of the English contingent at TPC Toronto, finishing one stroke off the lead with a 65, while Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick – both three under with a 67 – were not far behind. Koepka “left LIV” and now suddenly he’s good again… okay but what about all the money stuff? Also 64 sounds nice but I don’t follow golf like that.
Lowry only got like one birdie at the end? That’s wild like he just forgot how to swing on 18. I feel like the back nine is always where people choke but idk maybe the greens were messed up or something.
Why is it always “one shot off the lead” like that means anything. I saw Koepka said the putter heated up… so it’s basically luck? And Toronto golf sounds cold and humid, no wonder folks bogey. Who is Matt Fitzpatrick even playing for, England? idk but congrats to him I guess.
